从英文直译的话，“Badass” 这个词可以翻译成“坏蛋”、“到处惹是生非的人”等，当中没有一个是带有褒义的形容词。然而在流行用语中“Badass”却另有所指——并且有一个十分贴切的中文翻译，那就是“牛逼”。

而这就是“Badass of the Week”这个网站的成立意义——用最牛逼的方式记载地球上所发生过的牛人牛事。

当然，如果用百科全书那样子的沉闷口吻介绍这些英雄牛人，那就无聊透顶了。Badass of the Week，自然要用最牛逼的方法来介绍：

没错。这个网站的主要看点，就在介绍这些牛逼无比的人事物时，所用的粗俗不堪但却能引人棒腹大笑的词汇。虽然不管是天使还是海盗都会被形容得很黄很暴力，网站所描述的牛人事迹却准确得惊人。

正如其名，这个网站每个星期都会更新一次，介绍古今中外、史实神话虚构的各种牛人牛事。网站创办人Amazing Ben Thompson还写了一本叫做BADASS: The Book的书。
